Privacy Policy

Snaptek ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Snaptek collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our iOS app and the Snaptek Chrome extension.

We believe your data belongs to you. Snaptek is designed with privacy as a core principle.

Snaptek processes data primarily on your device. Here is what we handle:

• Notes, workouts, recipes, expenses, medications, and bookmarks — All content you create is stored locally on your device and, if you enable iCloud Sync (Pro), within your private iCloud account.
• AI processing data — AI Note Assistant features run entirely on-device using Apple Intelligence. Your notes are never sent to external servers for AI processing.
• Health data — If you enable Apple Health Sync (Pro), workout data syncs with Apple Health on your device. We do not access or store this data on our servers.
• Purchase information — Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information.
• Saved links from the Chrome extension — When you explicitly save a page, the extension captures its URL, title, description, and preview image URL and writes them to your private iCloud database. See the Chrome Extension section below.

• We do not collect personal identification information (name, email, phone number) unless you contact us directly.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
• We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
• We do not store your content on our servers.

If you enable iCloud Smart Sync (a Pro feature), your data is stored in your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

The Snaptek Chrome extension has a single purpose: saving a link from your desktop browser into your private Snaptek collection in iCloud, so it appears in the Snaptek app on your iPhone. This section explains exactly what it accesses, why, and where the data goes.

What the extension collects

• The page you choose to save — Only when you click the Snaptek toolbar icon or pick "Save to Snaptek" from the right-click menu, the extension reads the URL and title of the currently focused tab. It never reads other tabs and never runs on page load.
• Public preview metadata — At the moment you save, a small script reads the page's public og:title, og:description, og:image, and favicon tags so the saved card has a title and thumbnail. The script runs once per save and is never injected proactively.
• Your chosen folder — The destination folder you pick from your Snaptek folder list.

What the extension stores on your computer

The extension keeps a small amount of data in Chrome's local extension storage on your device only:

• A session token for your own iCloud account, so you do not have to sign in on every save.
• A short-lived cache of your Snaptek folder list, so the folder picker opens instantly.
• An offline queue of saves that could not be uploaded yet. A low-frequency background check (roughly every five minutes) retries these once you are back online, then removes them from the queue.

None of this local data is sent to any third party. Signing out or removing the extension clears it.

Where your saves go

Saved links are written to the private database of your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, the same place the Snaptek iOS app stores your data. Because a browser extension cannot call CloudKit directly, requests travel through a single authentication and relay service that Snaptek operates. This service forwards sign-in, folder-list, and save requests to Apple on your behalf and does not keep a copy of your links, folders, or content. We do not run a database of your saves; the data lives in your iCloud account, and we cannot read it.

Sign-in

You sign in once with your Apple ID through Apple's official sign-in flow. Your Apple ID password is entered only on Apple's page and never reaches Snaptek. The extension receives only a session token scoped to your own iCloud data.

What the extension does not do

• It does not track your browsing history or record which sites you visit.
• It does not read page content beyond the public preview tags described above, and only at the moment you save.
• It does not read cookies, form fields, messages, or passwords.
• It does not access any website other than the Snaptek relay service.
• It does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
• It does not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.

Browser permissions it requests

• activeTab — Read the URL and title of the tab you are saving, only after you invoke a save.
• scripting — Run the one-time preview-metadata script on the page you are saving.
• contextMenus — Add "Save page to Snaptek" and "Save link to Snaptek" to the right-click menu.
• storage — Keep the session token, folder cache, and offline queue on your device.
• alarms — Periodically retry saves that failed while you were offline.
• notifications — Show a short notice if Chrome blocks the save popup from opening, so you can complete the save from the toolbar icon.
• Host access to the Snaptek relay service — The only site the extension talks to, used for sign-in and forwarding saves to your iCloud account.

Saving requires the Snaptek iOS app with Snaptek Pro on your paired iPhone. Free users can install the extension and review what it does, but saves are not uploaded until iCloud Sync is available on that account. Extension code is submitted to Google for review with every release.

All AI features, including Improve Writing, Summarize, Make Shorter, Make Clearer, Fix Grammar, Generate Title, Turn into Checklist, and Help Me Write, are processed entirely on your device. No note content leaves your device for AI processing.

Your data is stored locally on your device using secure iOS storage mechanisms. If you enable the Security Lock feature, your data is additionally protected by Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode.

Data stored by the Chrome extension lives in Chrome's local extension storage on your computer and is not synced through Chrome's own sync service.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

Snaptek integrates with the following Apple services:

• Apple CloudKit — For iCloud Sync (Pro feature only)
• Apple HealthKit — For Apple Health Sync (Pro feature only, opt-in)
• Apple StoreKit — For subscription management
• Apple Sign in / CloudKit web services — For signing in to and saving links from the Chrome extension

These integrations are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

The Chrome extension's relay service is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes requests in transit and is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. It does not store your saved content.

Snaptek does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
